Writefest 18 brings together two existing Houston festivals to create the best possible event for writers: Houston Writers' Guild's Agents and Editors Conference, and Writespace's Writefest. The Agents and Editors Conference aimed to connect novelists with agents and book editors. Writefest was focused specifically on short forms and literary journals across genres. By combining these two events, Writefest 18 will be able to serve a larger swath of writers while maintaining the qualities that made the original Writefest unique.
